Buying a Home? Check out the steps to make it your reality!
Step #1: The Pre-approval
Choose a reputable lender and provide them with some basic information about your savings, income and debt. Lenders can usually pre approve you over the phone or via a secure email link. Expect results of your preapproval in 1-3 days. I would be happy to connect you with some great lenders I have had the pleasure of working with and had great success. Step #2: Looking for the home to call your own
A lot of times, choosing a home is a process. I always say buying a home is not like buying a pair of shoes! It may take lots of houses to help you decide what you need/want or maybe just a few. Regardless, I am happy to show you all the homes you need to see to make a sound decision.
Step #3: Making an Offer
Once you have found that home to call your own, I will make sure to help you make an offer you are comfortable with. I will show you comparable properties to help you make a strong offer. I can help you decide what inspections you would like completed and help you structure an offer and negotiate to get you the very best possible.
Step #4 Inspections, Appraisals and the Tough Stuff
Once under contract, I will assist in scheduling any inspections and help you through the appraisal process. I have great connections with inspectors, contractors and appraisers to make this part of the process a bit easier. If, as a result of inspections, there are repairs requested, I will negotiate to have repairs completed. Read more about your optional inspections here.
Step #5: Closing
My job doesn't end after your offer is accepted. Once you have an agreed upon offer and you are under contract you will need to choose a title company to conduct the settlement. Usually a settlement is 30-45 days after an agreed upon offer. I have lots of great local title company connections I would be happy to share with you. I will work with your chosen title company to coordinate the sale, deed preparation, and work between you and your lender so there are no hidden surprises.
